Monica concentrated on the music, allowing the soothing tones to relax her. She glanced at Krystal and smiled. She maybe off key, she thought, but at least she's happy.
The two girls sang along, giggling when one would hit a sour note or the other would screw up the lyrics. Happily involved with the music, the long drive seemed to be over with in seconds. Krystal's features slipped into one of surprise when they turned onto Winslow Street. Catching herself, she quickly re-arranged her features into her normal, bored expression.
Winking conspiratorially at Krystal, Monica whispered, "Don't worry Krystal, your secret is safe with me. I won't tell anyone you were having fun!" She laughed, watching Krystal jump out of the car.
Krystal bent down and quickly stuck her tongue out at Monica, before racing into the house. She waved good-by before slipping through the door.
"Mom, Dad, I'm home," she called as she headed up to her room. Not hearing an answer, she shrugged.    Good, they must be out, she thought, I have the house to myself. Now I can take a nice hot bubble bath, without being forced through the Spanish Inquisition about my night!
