Unity

On an “up” note… Unity contacted me… they’ll be sending a check to cover expenses to get their site up and running, as well as a one-time “love” offering for me… that’ll be a big help! Still need to get things figured out, on if I am allowed to earn any money at all, and still be on PERS… shit, I’m at poverty level, even those on SSA are allowed to earn some money every year! Wonder if Tony could figure their gobblety-gook out…

Xerox

Okay… Xerox called to re-schedule, still on Wed., but now at 11:30 (which would put S in lunch-rush traffic) and gave him directions to get there… she commented that she’s fairly new to the area, less then 3 years. S told her we’ve been here less then a year… where’s this leading? He was late – 45 minutes – to the interview, because her directions sent him further out. Fortunately, she realized her mistake and has re-scheduled for this coming Mon at 11am. At least S knows how to get there, now! Also, Compaq Computers phoned and gave him a “mini” phone quiz… naturally, he passed – he has an interview with them, on Tues at 9am.

PERS sent me an email, that my check had been released on the 5th… it STILL isn’t in my account. Things are looking bad, all the way around, right now… *sighs* Mom’s loaning me $100 for groceries – as slow as snail mail is, that isn’t here yet, either! Really batting great, huh?

Xerox

Well, Xerox called today. S has a f2f interview, at 9am Wed. Which also happens to be the exact time the Master-Mind meeting is going on at Mom’s – so some heavy duty prayer/treatment power will be going on, during his interview! Xerox must be pretty serious, too – they’re FedEx’ing some stuff over to S, to fill out and bring with him, on Wed – although one item they want him to fax, as soon as he fills out. Lord I hope all goes well!

Earthlink

Sheesh, also forgot to add… S had an interview with Earthlink – he’s got the job, if he wants it. He keeps saying he hates to be an adult. He wants that job so bad (the guy who interviewed him had green hair! LoL) but unfortunately, it pays 1/3 less then his last job did, and he was underpaid there.

On an up note, Xerox contacted him late last week, after viewing his online resume. He had an interview on Thursday, and they set up a second interview – they’re quite interested in him. The hiring procedure is, if they have any interest, they contact you and kinda get to know you a little bit. If that person is impressed, a phone interview is set up. If that goes well, then a personal interview is set up (that’s the stage he’s at now) and finally, if that goes well, you’re hired. On top of that, they’re offering him $3.00 more an hour, then IBM paid him! Wooo-hooo!

hoops

Well, I’m doing real bad on regularity here… er… regularity, not irregularity — get yer mind outta the gutter! Okie dokie, thought I had posted here what I found out about PERS, and all of their, hmm, wonderful ways of handling things… such a nice way to handle a retiree or disabled individual who counts the tiny pittance they earned by virtue of giving their life to the state for employment… well, it seems they didn’t receive the first or second copy of the form I sent back, that I’d not earned any money in 1999… a damn form that I sign – pay to have notarized – and check the box that says “no earning in 1999”!! Now, the assholes did get the third copy – I faxed it. So they released my check today.

*sighs* Now I have to wait for them to mail the friggin check to my bank – not me, mind you, but my bank. Because I’m normally on direct deposit. So many hoops to jump through…

mystery

*sighs* Well, working on the mystery webpages helped somewhat… but I kept taking time out to go over to my online banking account, to see if my deposit was in… still isn’t, and I don’t know why… I have no clue why PERS would not pay me… damn… this is all just too much….

Leukemia

Looking back over my week… damn…

When I talked to Rick the other night, he said that Jyl has always had a minor problem with anemia… when her symptoms started, she knew to eat liver and increase her meat intake, then the symptoms would clear up. But this time they didn’t. CML leukemia – the “C” stands for chronic… this form of leaukemia can remain “dormant” or quiet, for 4-5 years, before it gets to the critical stage. Critical is where Jyl is at, now… all these years, she probably thought she was fighting with anemia alone – when in actuality, it was the chronic phase of leukemia….

I feel like crying. But what good would that do? It ain’t gonna help Jyl… it ain’t gonna give S a job… it ain’t gonna make my disability check show up… but damn… I just feel so helpless right now. I try to turn to the Higher Power, but can’t seem to complete my thoughts… just a bunch of half-thought out prayers, pleas… however you want to view it… I just feel like… damn….

I think I’ll go work on one of my secret pages… getting lost/involved in the coding and creating, will be a pleasant distraction. I still have to phone Spring and tell her about Jyl…

CH Heather

Well, I did exactly as I hoped I wouldn’t do – fell behind on putting things here. So much has been happening… still no job for S, but plenty of supporters who are willing to give him good to excellent references, which is a big plus. Hopefully, he won’t be out of work too long…

I’ve been busy making pages and sending little cards and such, to my Secret Sister and the DD I’m spoiling – that’s been fun, and a very nice distraction. I got one email from my Mystery DD – nothing from my Secret Sis yet…

Haven’t heard from Unity, on their pages, so no new news there… I did find out from my Mom, that the Kerr House would like me to do a total make-over on their pages, a fresh look. Am waiting to get some more info, before I start anything.

Heather is in heat, and driving evryone nuts! Silly girl, keeps trying to ride her own daughter! Worse, she also tries to ride poor Decker’s head! LoL Imagine this tiny Sheltie, spraddled on top of this huge Afghan Hound’s head… it’s hilarious, although poor Decker is going nuts!

Lastly…bad news on Jyl. She has CML leukemia. She apparently has had it for years, but it was quiet while in the chronic stage… now, it’s gone into crisis stage. Treatment is harder in this stage. But, she now is aware of what she has, and as a typical, stoic person, is ready to fight it. Bone marrow transplant sounds like a good option – 50% of those receiveing this type of treatment, recover with no reoccurances of the disease. Excellent odds! Her bone marrow sample has been sent to the Mayo Clinic, among other prestigious medical facilites… her oncologist expects to hear back from them in 4-7 days, and will then establish a treatment protocol…

damn… add to all of this, here it is, the 2nd – and my automatic deposit of my disability check has NOT been made yet… I’m still waiting to hear from PERS, why this happened… we can’t afford to not make rent on time – there’s a $79 late fee, roughly 1/8th of my monthly income… *sighs* damn….

Jyl

Mom called late last night, around midnight or 1am, actually… said she had bad news. Jyl has been feeling sick for a couple of weeks… went to the doctors… she was told her iron was low, anemia, and to eat plenty of meat. Her iron was down to 8… 8!! Damn… she went back for a re-check, her iron had dropped to 7 – critically low. Doctor called Rick, refused to tell Jyl since she’s alone right now – they suspect leukemia.

It’s funny… every time Rick & Jyle wanted to sell their house in the past, their houses sold with 2-3 weeks. They’ve had this house on the market for several months… but Rick wanted to take the position as assistant minister, back in Toledo… Jyl stayed here, until the house could sell… she’s been miserable without Rick there… truth be told, I know she really doesn’t want to move back to the cold winters of the north, too… maybe “someone” was trying to tell them – with the house, being the best one they’ve purchased so far, not selling – maybe they really weren’t suppose to go back north?!?

headache

Got the headache back a wee bit, but not as bad as yesterday at least. S had 1 interview during the day, got a lot straightened out (with part of his old company). Other interview didn’t come through yet – head of Human Resources was unavailable after all… *sighs* I’m sure he’ll be back working again soon, tho…
